DAIMLER

Daimler

Daimler AG is one of the world’s most successful automotive companies. With its divisions Mercedes-Benz Cars, Daimler Trucks, Mercedes-Benz Vans, Daimler Buses and Daimler Financial Services, the Daimler Group is one of the biggest producers of premium cars and the world’s biggest manufacturer of commercial vehicles with a global reach.As of 2014, Daimler owned or had shares in a number of car, bus, truck and motorcycle brands including Mercedes-Benz, Mercedes-AMG, Smart Automobile, Detroit Diesel, Freightliner, Western Star, Thomas Built Buses, Setra, BharatBenz, Mitsubishi Fuso, MV Agusta as well as shares in Denza, KAMAZ and Beijing Automotive Group. The luxury Maybach brand was terminated at the end of 2012, but revived in April 2015 as “Mercedes-Maybach” versions of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and G-Class. In 2017, Daimler sold 3.3 million vehicles. By unit sales, Daimler is the thirteenth-largest car manufacturer and is the largest truck manufacturer in the world. Daimler AG complex in Stuttgart include central company headquarters, Mercedes-Benz and Daimler car plants, Mercedes-Benz Museum and stadium Mercedes-Benz Arena.

AMG

AMG

Mercedes-AMG GmbH, commonly known as AMG, is the high-performance division of Mercedes-Benz. AMG independently hires engineers and contracts with manufacturers to customize Mercedes-Benz AMG vehicles. Mercedes-AMG is headquartered in Affalterbach, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.AMG was originally an independent engineering firm specializing in performance improvements for Mercedes-Benz vehicles; DaimlerChrysler AG took a controlling interest in 1999, then became sole owner of AMG in 2005. Mercedes-AMG GmbH is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Daimler AG.AMG models typically have more aggressive looks, a higher level of performance, better handling, better stability and more extensive use of carbon fibre than their regular Mercedes-Benz counterparts.[2] AMG models are typically the most expensive and highest-performing variant of each Mercedes-Benz classMercedes-AMG GmbH currently employs a workforce of more than 1700 at its plant in Affalterbach. RENAULT

Renault

Groupe Renault; legally Renault S.A. is a French multinational automobile manufacturer established in 1899. The company produces a range of cars and vans, and in the past has manufactured trucks, tractors, tanks, buses/coaches, aircraft engines, and autorail vehicles.According to the Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d’Automobiles, in 2016 Renault was the ninth biggest automaker in the world by production volume. By 2017, the Renault–Nissan–Mitsubishi Alliance had become the world’s biggest seller of light vehicles, bumping Volkswagen AG off the top spot.Headquartered in Boulogne-Billancourt, near Paris, the Renault group is made up of the namesake Renault marque and subsidiaries, Alpine, Automobile Dacia from Romania, Renault Samsung Motors from South Korea, and AvtoVAZ from Russia. Renault has a 43.4% controlling stake in Nissan of Japan, and a 1.55% stake in Daimler AG of Germany (since 2012, Renault manufactures engines for the Daimler’s Mercedes A-Class and B-Class cars. Renault also owns subsidiaries RCI Banque (automotive financing), Renault Retail Group (automotive distribution) and Motrio (automotive parts). Renault has various joint ventures, including Oyak-Renault (Turkey), Renault Pars (Iran). The French government owns a 15% share of Renault.Together Renault and Nissan invested €4 billion (US$5.16 billion) in eight electric vehicles over three to four years beginning in 2011.

NISSAN

Nissan

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., usually shortened to Nissan Japanese pronunciation: is a Japanese multinational automobile manufacturer headquartered in Nishi-ku, Yokohama. The company sells its cars under the Nissan, Infiniti, and Datsun brands with in-house performance tuning products labelled Nismo. The company traces its name to the Nissan zaibatsu, now called Nissan Group.Since 1999, Nissan has been part of the Renault–Nissan–Mitsubishi Alliance, a partnership between Nissan of Japan, Mitsubishi Motors of Japan and Renault of France.In 2013, Nissan was the sixth largest automaker in the world, after Toyota, General Motors, Volkswagen Group, Hyundai Motor Group, and Ford. Taken together, the Renault–Nissan Alliance would be the world’s fourth largest automaker. Nissan is the leading Japanese brand in China, Russia and Mexico.In 2014 Nissan was the largest car manufacturer in North America.Nissan is the world’s largest electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, with global sales of more than 320,000 all-electric vehicles as of April 2018. The top-selling vehicle of the car-maker’s fully electric lineup is the Nissan LEAF, an all-electric car and the world’s top-selling highway-capable plug-in electric car in history.In January 2018, Nissan CEO Hiroto Saikawa announced that all Infiniti vehicles launched from 2021 will be hybrid vehicles or all-electric vehicles.

MAGNA

Magna

Magna International Inc. is a Canadian mobility technology company for automakers. It is one of the largest companies in Canada and was recognized on the 2019 Forbes Global 2000.  The company is the largest automobile parts manufacturer in North America by sales of original equipment parts. It produces automotive systems, assemblies, modules, and components, which are supplied to General Motors, Ford Motor Company and FCA, as well as BMW, Mercedes, Volkswagen and Tesla Motors, among others.The company is headquartered in Aurora, Ontario and its chief executive officer is Donald Walker. It has 169,000 employees in 338 manufacturing operations and 89 product development, engineering and sales centres in 28 countries. Magna is governed under a corporate constitution which calls for distribution of profits to employees and shareholders. The terms of this contract are a “fair enterprise system” according to company founder, Frank Stronach.Magna has also been recognized with several Automotive News PACE Awards for its innovations. Magna technologies that received PACE Awards in recent years include its BlindZone outside mirror (2009), Infinity rearview mirror (2012), laser-welded, hot-stamped door ring (2014, in partnership with Honda and ArcelorMittal) and PureView seamless sliding window (2015).Bloomberg has called Magna International the “world’s largest contract manufacturer of vehicles”.

HANDTMANN

Handtmann

The Handtmann group of companies is a German company based in Biberach an der Riss, Baden-Württemberg. The company originated from a brass foundry and was founded in 1873 by Christoph Albert Handtmann. Currently, light metal castings and system components for the automotive industry, machines for the food industry, stainless steel fittings and equipment for the beverage industry, as well as high-strength parts made of engineering plastic are manufactured within the group.In addition to the headquarters, there are production sites in Annaberg-Buchholz (Saxony), Košice (Slovakia), as well as several sales offices worldwide. In June 2013, the group started to set up a production site in China (Tianjin). The plant in Tianjin opened in March 2015. In 2018, the group of companies, with approx. 3,700 employees, generated sales of 876 million euros. The family business is run by Thomas Handtmann in the fourth generation.
