History tradition

The Marovt company was founded in 1971 by Mr Oto Marovt in Vitanje – in the valley with a centuries-old forging tradition – the place with the first iron works dating back to the 18th century. Today the Noordung Space Center is located in this place.Passion and work commitment as well as the fact that we all employees believe in what we do – all that has been leading us since the humble beginning till now. We never give up and we analyze every problem carefully and strive to solve it with join efforts.Passion for the technological development has always been guiding us in the process of development and we always wanted to be the first to test novelties, sometimes even too early; however, we can proudly announce that this is it what has been motivating us since ever.The company has expanded the production to three locations in three towns: Stranice, Loče and Slovenska Bistrica.

Important milestones of the Marovt company:

  • 1971

    Mr Oto Marovt founded

    the company in hired premises in Vitanje – forged parts production was the main activity

  • 1st own production hall at Stranice

     location was finished, machines were moved and the production was launched

    1977

  • 1978

    A machine for the production

     of forging tools was bought and our own tool-making factory was launched

  • Mrs Olga Marovt

    Mr Oto Marovt’s wife – joined the company and started to manage finances and accounting

    1980

  • 1988

    Modernization of forging tools

    production with technological procedures – the beginning of precision forging

  • Foreign markets penetration,

     the 1st customer abroad (in Germany) was gained and the production of forged parts for the foreign automotive industry was launched

    1990

  • 1992

    The Marovt Ltd. Company

    was founded and business operation was transferred to the new company

  • The company started

    to export its products to North America

    1993

  • 1994

    The 1st participation at the development

    of a forged part for the automotive industry – the development of a forged part and later a serial production

  • The Loče plant

    was purchased and machining of forged parts was launched

    1996

  • 1999

    The production of turning parts

    was launched in Loče plant and the complete reconstruction of forged parts production in Stranice

  • The 2nd generation of the Marovt family

    took over the management – Mr Tomaž Marovt

    1999

  • 2000

    The award of the Slovene Chamber of Economy

    for exceptional entrepreneurial achievements for small companies for Marovt d.o.o.

  • The forged parts production was expanded

    by purchasing the first hydraulic hammer

    2002

  • 2004

    We won the flattering and the best award in Slovenia

    called Gazela for the Savinja and Zasavje valleys, as being one of fast-growing companies for years

  • A new production hall

    for the completion of forged parts was erected in Stranice

    2007

  • 2008

    Becoming TIER 1 -

    the company started to supply its products directly to automotive producers

  • A new hall in Loče

    was erected where machining of larger forged parts was launched

    2012

  • 2013

    The launch of the production

    and machining of stainless forged parts

  • The beginning of the participation

    at the development of stainless forged parts for internal combustion engines and in Stranice a totally new machining plant was launched as well as the production of forged parts was expanded

    2014

  • 2015

    The 1st production digitalization

    two new companies joined our company – Inkolteh (production digitalization) in Mteh (production automatization and in robotization)

  • A modern MES system

    was introduced at all three production plants

    2016

  • 2017

    An important milestone in the field of automatization

    – the number of robots exceeded 10 % of employees

  • The production at the new location in Slovenska Bistrica

    was built and launched – machining of forged parts

    2018
